  2. How does The Prevue APS Pro fit into the Prevue Hiring System?

The Prevue Hiring System provides holistic HR Tools that support your company’s hiring efforts.  Prevue Assessments provide the pre-employment testing portion of the hiring process but there are many steps to the process that occur before a company tests job applicants.  A company must create and post a job advertisement on multiple job boards, and or social media sites as well as their own company website.  Once a job is advertised applicants must go through a process of providing specific information that a company requires such as demographic details and work and education history.  Many companies want applicants to answer screening questions such as whether the applicant has a valid driver’s license, will travel 50% of the time, enjoys cold calling etc.

The Prevue APS Pro provides companies with an easy to use system that supports job postings and data collection surrounding a recruiting campaign.  The system also sync’s with Prevueonline which allows a company to integrate Prevue testing at the time of application.  Essentially companies can now have a hands free career center that manages all aspects of the job application process.

Companies should be advertising potential job openings 24/7.   If companies take a reactive approach to the recruiting process they are limiting themselves to finding qualified candidates in specific and limited windows of time.  This greatly reduces their chances of success and almost guarantees that top talent ends up with their competitors.

Prevue APS allows companies to create an immediate branded career page that can stand-alone or be attached to their existing website.  Job openings can be pushed to over 1000+ job boards all over North America and the system will process all applications.  Any company that is serious about finding and hiring the best and the brightest must always be in a active recruiting state.  Prevue APS Pro provides 24*7 recruiting that handles all the heavy lifting of screening and organizing job applicants.

For jobs that attract a lot of applications Prevue APS Pro allows companies to receive 500 applications but only focus their attention on the 50 that the system screens as Job Fit suitable.  For Jobs that have few applications Prevue APS Pro provides full time recruiting with the opportunity to respond immediately to the best applicants.

Prevue Assessments FAQ

  1. What are the Prevue Assessments?
    • A Proven Pre-Employment test designed to determine an individual's Job Fit.
    • Prevue Assessments are valid and reliable psychological tests designed to analyze a applicant's job suitability.
  2. What does the Prevue measure?
The Prevue measures an applicant's Abilities, Interests and PersonalityTraits to determine Job suitability.

    Prevue Abilities Tests
General Mental Ability provides a measure of an applicant's learning speed. It is the single best predictor of job performance. Matching an individual's strength in Numerical, Verbal or Spatial reasoning to that required in a particular job is vital to making a good hiring decision.

    Prevue Interest Inventory
How does a company determine if an Individual is motivated and interested in performing the tasks or types of work required in a particular job? Many companies are frustrated with applicants who have the skills and knowledge to do a job but show little or no interest in performing well once hired. The Prevue Interest Inventory matches a person's interests to the types of tasks the individual will need to address in a particular job.

    Prevue Personality Inventory:
Personality is a major factor in evaluating job fit. The Prevue Personality Inventory determines if an individual is a good personality match for the requirements or demands of a particular job. It is a good predictor of an individual's long term job satisfaction and productivity.

The Prevue Personality Inventory measures an individual's inherent personality traits and matches the individual to a benchmark traits that have proven to be effective in a particular job.
  3. What are the benefits of using Prevue Assessments?
Companies who use Prevue Assessments as part of their hiring process receive the following benefits:
    • Added structure to the hiring process: Many companies have no hiring process. They leave much of what occurs up to the discretion of the hiring managers. Implementing Prevue Assessments as part of the hiring process establishes a proven structure for evaluating applicants.
    • Targeted Interviewing: By testing and comparing an applicant against a job fit benchmark companies are provided with interview questions that focus on areas off the benchmark. This keeps the interview focussed on whether the applicant is suited for the role.
    • Increased Hiring Success Rate: Companies who use Job fit testing experience a 25 - 75% increase in hiring success.
    • Reduction in Employee Turnover: A common expression is that "People are hired on skill but quit or are fired because of bad fit". Integrating Job Fit testing will ensure that the applicants with the best job fit are hired and therefore result in a reduction of employee turnover.
    • Increased Employee Productivity: Hiring applicants with the best job fit result in happier, better adjusted employees that in turn leads to higher productivity rates.
    • Increased time to hire: In a competitive job market companies need tools to make quick decisions with minimal mistakes. Using a valid and reliable Job Fit testing tool mitigates the risk of making a bad decision under these circumstances.
  4. What is the cost of a bad hire?
    The hard cost of a bad hire has been conservatively estimated at $5,000 - $10,000 for hourly workers and a full year's salary for salaried employees. This does not take into consideration the indirect cost such as;
    • Lost productivity - a new hire who produces in the bottom quarter of employees in a given position produces between 25% and 600% less than a top performer. The quality of their work may even be lower than the volume of their output.
    • Reduced revenue - if the new hire happens to be in a revenue-generating or revenue-impact position, the loss of revenue could be significant.
    • Lost innovation - in a fast-moving world, high rates of innovation are critical to maintaining competitive advantage. Organizations cannot tolerate employees who are resistant to change and whose work may actually distract other employees.
    • Customer impact - customers know when they are dealing with a weak employee, so hiring a subpar employee into a role that interfaces with customers can measurably reduce sales and customer satisfaction while increasing customer turnover.
    • Error rates - poor performers make mistakes resulting in work that must be redone. Weak employees may also cause more accidents, hurting themselves and others.
    • Slower time-to-market - weak employees are slower in both their work and their thinking. As a result, they can slow the progress of the entire team, especially in important areas like product development.
    • Competitive advantage - hiring weak employees sends a message to competitors that you are getting weak. This might encourage and empower them to become more competitive and confident.
